Hi all

This email signals the final communication from Men's Confraternity. The MC Special Meeting was held yesterday and the Special Resolution to voluntarily wind-up was unanimously passed. MC's 25 years of operation has culminated in our organisation having more Supporting Members and more visitors to our website and online forum each month than ever before. Sadly, the same could not be said about the number of Financial Members and people willing to donate their time and effort to running and administering MC. As a consequence, with most of the current Executive board stepping down this month and no volunteers stepping forward to replace them, the organisation was left unable to continue operating.

I feel this is a truly sad end to such an influential and long-lived organisation, but I take solace from the legislative changes that we have helped to bring about and the social / attitudinal changes towards men and fathers brought about during our history. The current website and online forum will remain online until the current hosting contract expires, but sadly no further updates will occur and no further notice will be provided. I would like to wish everyone the best of luck with their current situations and hope that people will throw their support behind other organisations, so that they can continue the fight because 'children need the love and care of BOTH parents'.

Regards
