Police said a 4-year-old girl suffered second- and third-degree burns after her mother allegedly burned her using a spoon.

Crystal Hill is being held in the Montgomery County Jail on charges of child endangering after she allegedly burned her daughter on the shoulder with a hot spoon.

Hill lives on North Upland in Dayton. Police said during a visitation with the child’s father, he noticed that burn and took her to Children’s Medical Center.

Neighbors said Hill is quiet and is not seen very much. Zelta Smith said, “That is terrible.”

The child, along with three other siblings, is staying with their father. Police said the child was burned with a spoon that was heated up on a stove.

Investigators said Hill works for a local school district.
