Abortion is worst form of child abuse

In a perfect world we wouldn't need laws that dictate our behavior. As it is, we don't permit murder, kidnapping, rape, and, even though it's our body, we have laws requiring us to wear seat belts and helmets.

The March 6 guest column (Harassment at family planning clinics should be against the law) would have us believe that sex is such a powerful, chemically inspired desire that we could not possibly control ourselves. It is not that we cannot, but that we won't.
Sex education has been in schools for decades, but what is not taught are the facts about abortion. We have pseudo-educated people that have no motivation for self discipline as long as abortion is so readily available and they remain uneducated about it.
It is against conventional wisdom - that tells us not to make an important decision in the middle of a crisis - when we hold out abortion as an option to a couple in a crisis pregnancy.
I appreciate the writer's acknowledgement that we are dealing with the life of a child. Unfortunately, she reveals that her "commitment to the healthy development of children" stops short of the unborn child. The same selfishness that permits abortion, also pollutes our waters, poisons our air, and preys on the disadvantaged.
In my 20s I was single and had five children. Sadly, I aborted three, miscarried one and one was born premature, the latter two both due to damage done to my body from the abortions. I have given a child up for adoption, and I have adopted two children.
If I am at a clinic that performs abortions, it is to reach out with understanding, be informative and truthful. Death is not the solution for any child that is potentially unwanted, unloved or uncared for. Abortion is the worst form of child abuse.
