Judge orders boy, 11, to live with father he hates and hasn’t seen for four years

A boy of 11 has been ordered to leave his mother and move more than 100 miles to live with the father he hates. By Jonathan Petre Last updated at 5:27 PM on 24th January 2010 Appeal Court judges accepted last week that the boy was thriving with his mother, enjoying a life full of activities. Yet they still ruled that he should live with his father, whom he has not seen for nearly four years. Experts said the judgment reflected the emphasis the courts were now putting on the role of fathers and on the need for children to have contact with both parents. The boy’s parents split up before he was born and the father has been striving to win access for years.

A DAD cleared of claims he sexually abused his kids is now hitting back at his ex wife. LAURIE NOWELL From: Sunday Herald Sun January 24, 2010 The man is accusing his ex-wife of perjury, assault and threatening to kill. The legal action, believed to be a first for Victoria, will set a controversial precedent and could open the floodgates to similar cases. "Bill", whose identity cannot be revealed for legal reasons, is alleging his wife deliberately lied when she made allegations that he had sexually abused their children. His affidavit was accepted by the Melbourne Magistrates' Court last week, a hearing date has been set for next month and a summons was due to be served on Friday. The case stems from a criminal trial during which Bill spent two years fighting charges based on his wife's allegations. He was eventually acquitted, but the ordeal cost him his job, his home and about $450,000 in lost income and legal costs. The case is also based on similar accusations of sexual abuse of their children made by the ex-wife during a bitter Family Court battle.
